Weekly Schedule – In-person Session Thu 9th Dec 2021

REMINDER: Our society Christmas dinner is on the evening of Monday 13th December. We have a few members signed up already, so it looks like it should be a fun evening of tasty food and Go playing. Please email gosociety@yusu.org if you would like to be added to the guest list.

So, now, on with this week’s schedule for playing Go!

This week, we will meet:

1. IN-PERSON (and online) Thursday in the evening, 19:30-21:30 in SLB/007 (Spring Lane Building – map below). This session will also be online via https://online-go.com/group/1814 (text chat and games) and https://meet.jit.si/uoy_go_society (video chat).

Unfortunately, due to committee availability, we are not able to officially support the online only session this Tuesday lunchtime (12:00-14:00). However, some members may be online anyway, so check https://online-go.com/group/1814 (text chat and games) and https://meet.jit.si/uoy_go_society (video chat) if you want to play / chat and you may find some other members there.

All in-person sessions are subject to the following Covid-19 regulations:

• Players must not attend in-person if they are unwell. In-person sessions will also be online, so please attend remotely instead if you are poorly.
• All players must wash their hands and/or use hand sanitizer (which will be provided) before playing.
• All players must wear a face-covering throughout the session, unless exempt from doing so under Government guidelines. 
• All players must provide their name and email address on entry for track and trace purposes.

Any players who wish to bring and use their own equipment and/or disposable gloves are welcome to do so, although this is not required.

For the Online session, should you need to set up access to OGS and the UoY Go Society OGS group, please follow the instructions below:

1. Set up an OGS account (if you haven’t got one already) at https://online-go.com
2. Join our OGS group (if you haven’t already). As it is invite-only, please let us know your OGS username (by emailing gosociety@yusu.org) and we will send you an invite to join the group.

UoY Go Society Christmas Dinner 2021 Announced

Every year we organise a Go Society Christmas Dinner. This is one of the highlights of the year, as it is a nice chance to socialise outside of the usual Go playing sessions, we have a lovely meal, and we stay to play Go afterwards. So, we are very pleased to invite all society members to this year’s event, the detail of which are as follows:

• When: the evening of Monday 13th December, time to be confirmed but probably around 6:30 p.m.
• Where: Ippuku Tea House, 15 Blake St, York YO1 8QJ (subject to booking) – a Japanese style Tea House in York, serving Japanese food, tea and drink.

All society members are invited and you are welcome to bring wives and girlfriends, husbands and boyfriends, children, flatmates, friends, etc. – please just let us know who is coming so we can book accordingly. If you would like to attend, please let us know by emailing gosociety@yusu.org
